How to obtain energy renovation aid in France.
With energy prices on the rise, making savings is becoming essential, as households look to reduce their expenditure over the long term.
By 2023, over 569,243 homes had been renovated thanks to Ma Prime Rénov’, making the national impact remarkable.
These renovations have resulted in energy savings of almost 54 %, as the work carried out significantly improves the thermal performance of the homes.
In addition, Ma Prime Rénov’ aid averages sixteen thousand two hundred and eighty euros, to make renovations more accessible.
So, investing in energy renovation is the right thing to do today, but the financial and environmental benefits are still particularly attractive to homeowners.

Why obtain energy renovation assistance?
The main motivations for obtaining assistance for improving energy performance are economic and legislative. We will detail these two cases.
Saving energy
First of all, whether it's for financial or ecological reasons, one thing is certain: you want to consume less electricity, gas, wood and other resources. In France, the average cost of energy is €230 per month (excluding vehicles), but this figure has risen by 15 % since 2020. So, as mentioned above, these costs can be halved through renovation work.

Here is the list of steps to follow to obtain energy renovation assistance:
- Prepare information about your good (last DPE, size, last renovations...)
- Check out France Renov' on the france-renov.gouv.fr website in order to reach a support member for free
- Talk with him about the funds you may get
Once these initial steps are completed remotely, the advisor will instruct you to request quotes from artisans, and then a thermal engineering firm will visit your property to conduct an energy audit and assess the coherence of the quotes. Please note, this audit is not completely free depending on your income and can cost between 0 and €1600.
Let's take an example: Daniel has a 120 m2 flat in Cannes and would like to insulate his attic better. He called an adviser who told him that he was entitled to up to €5,000 to cover the walls with insulating materials. Daniel then asked a craftsman for a quote. When the advisor came round, he checked that the craftsman wasn't charging too much.
Energetic renovation works
You need to select professionals with the RGE label (Reconnu Garant de l'Environnement). This is both a guarantee of quality and a criterion for obtaining energy renovation grants. I advise you to get detailed quotes from several companies so that you can compare them. I insist on this point: ask for the cost of each material and service.
